Talent Acquisition Redefined
Early in my professional journey I spent some time recruiting. The technology at the time was limited. I used behavioral interviewing techniques, and the game “How to please each of the individual hiring managers personal likes and dislikes” in a candidate. I recruited in both 8% unemployment and 4% unemployment. Feast or famine scenarios.
Fast forward to today. Technology has changed how we source candidates and how people find meaningful work. Technology has improved some aspects of the search, and presented new challenges in others. Work and how work is done is continuing to evolve.
In 2019 an ad hoc group of folks working in the talent acquisition space gathered virtually to discuss and tackle the current challenges of the employee and employer experience related to recruiting. We now meet once a month, virtually, to discuss a variety of topics. This will lead up to a larger event, April 29th, a Talent Acquisition Hack a Thon. A group of professionals passionate about improving the employee experience and employer experience will tackle how to recreate some aspects of the talent acquisition playbook.
